Taiwanese Chain JYJ Noodle Bar For Noods

JYJ Noodle Bar is a popular upmarket Taiwanese chain in Shanghai that does excellent noodles. All outlets are located in malls.
The noodles aren't cheap in comparison to my usual street-side haunts. You pay a premium for the quality of the noodles, the mall locale, and the better than average decor and service. Though, the noodles are pretty great, and if you find yourself in need but don't want to grime it out at a hole-in-the-wall, JYJ will be satisfactory.

Jin Ya Ju Noodle (¥69) - Egg noodle with matsuzaka pork neck, soft boiled egg, and mushrooms. The signature for a good reason. Dry noodles have a chewy, toothsome texture.

Braised Beef Noodle (¥69) - Rich but not heavy bone broth with fat, slightly al dente egg noodles.

Seafood Laksa Noodle Soup (¥79) - This was OK. Not the best laksa IMO.

Fried Chicken Wings (¥29) marinated with shrimp paste. 3/5

Blanched Okra (¥29)

Soy Sauce Chicken (¥69) - Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside.

Stewed Spicy Beef Tendon (¥49) - 4/5
In Summary
It's a popular chain, expect a wait during peak hours. Good for a working day lunch, especially if you don't want to grime it out at a local hole-in-the-wall.
