theWarehouse: A Micro Wine Bar & Wine Shop (Closed)

From the team behind Ottimo comes theWarehouse, a micro wine bar and grab-and-go wine shop in Surpass Court. If you’re an oenophile looking to stock up on some excellent wines, this is where you should go.

Oh—and they have their own wine delivery platform, too, should you want to have the wine bar experience within the comfort of your own home.
About theWarehouse

Surpass Court has been a no mans land for quite some years. It was popular once, but since the opening of many new F&B hubs, the sheen of this complex has since faded. If anyone is passing through, it’s to have dinner at popular wine bar Ottimo.

theWarehouse is another destination here that’s worth its salt.

theWarehouse is part cellar, part kitchen, split into two lots on the ground floor, and there's a bit of outdoor seating, too. The cellar houses wines that you would find at Ottimo—meaning, really high quality, select labels of fine wines—and has a large selection of Burgundy wines, and a handful of new world labels.

A big plus of getting your wines from theWarehouse is that all bottles are sold at retail prices. They also have some wines by the glass, starting from ¥85. To be honest, you might as well get a bottle, which starts at ¥330 a bottle.
The Food — Apero Bites

Further into the complex is the kitchen section of theWarehouse. The food is simple but good, constructed by consulting chef Freddy Raoult (The Nest), who also does the menu at SOiF.
It’s a short menu of easy-going apero foods like canned duck liver mousse, salmon rillettes, pickles, cold cuts, and cheese.

Smoked Salmon Rillette (¥38) with sour cream and caviar, served with toasted sourdough bread.

Fresh Burrata (¥68) with pickled pumpkin, honey, seeds and granola.

Pickled Veggies & Roots (¥18)

Duck Liver Mousse (¥48) with Shaoxing wine jelly, served with toasted sourdough bread. This is to die for.

Olives (¥38) - Stuffed with spicy peppers. Pretty spicy. There are also regular olives for ¥28.

Mixed Charcuterie and Cheese Platter (¥138)

Mushroom and Sausage Roll (¥58) with Marmite sauce.
Grab & Go Wines + Delivery
You could just pop in and get bottles to go. Another advantage of getting your wines from theWarehouse is that the staff here are either sommeliers or sommeliers-in-training, led by house sommelier Yonex. They know their wines, and they'll be able to give professional recommendations on their curated selection.

But if you want to stay in, theWarehouse also has its own wine delivery mini-program on WeChat—bottles that should be served cold will arrive chilled.
Food items, including the canned stuff, cold cuts, and cheeses, will also be available via delivery, should want a curated wine bar experience for home. Delivery time is 30-45 minutes.
For delivery, search for “酒箱搬运公司” on WeChat.
